I had to go with that headline. I’m making it a practice to use my power of focus to focus on what I want to create. And on what I wish to share and BE in the world. I thought that covered it. Spread the Love.

An oversimplification? Hardly. Not many of us are pausing to shift into the Heart of Love in our day to day. Why is it so hard is the question?

Well, it doesn’t have to be… with a little conscious refocus.

How many hypy, fear-based headlines, perspectives, and opinions do you consume every day?

Consider this… one powerful Love-focused thought can transmute a thousand of a lower, fear-based nature.

So Why Not? Put the most awesome Love-based perspectives out there in every way we can?

Major world challenges, epidemics, catastrophes… will come and go, and always have as far back as history can show. The latest corona virus is another one that will also pass… and maybe even with a healthier world for it.

Still, even as a practiced wellness geek, I also found myself stirred up about this one.

There is so much fear-based focus on this one — on all sides of the issue. And I get it. To stay “blissfully detached” would require you to be a monk on a mountaintop.

It’s hard not to get wrapped up, and even righteous, about our fears and options. We all care so deeply, yet much of that care is coming out as over-care, or fear-based care.

So here’s the thing – over-care is largely ineffective, and it does what we ultimately DON’T want to happen… it propagates more fear and disconnection – and a world where we’re becoming more isolated and separated. Not so good for the deeper, true heart-healing so desperately needed.

We have another option. To truly bring higher good, and higher transformation, instead come from the Heart Space of True Care.

And I offer this for fodder… the level of fear and tenacity of this disease is the level our mindsets, beliefs, and thought systems around it. For those who are tuned into the level of energy (which, everything is made up of)… Many of us world over are vibrating at the rate of an insidious virus.

I love this quote from the great metaphysician, Florence Scovel Shinn…“Don’t vibrate at the rate of a germ.” 

How? We pause to be compassionate and mindful when we go about life’s business. We give a smile. We give encouragement. We look for the joy and blessings. We make lemonade out of lemons… We center in our Core, in the open space of our limitless Heart, often.

I’m not saying we ignore the external factors – we need to do what we need to do in the physical world, too. I’m mostly pointing out, the real, lasting and most powerful work begins within us.

When this strain of COVID is less of an issue, there is still big dis-ease wiping out our populations at even higher levels than the “Rona” – like, Cancer and Heart Disease, plus there’s still world hunger and poverty…and many more rampant killers.

And then the next virus, the next hefty flu strain… will keep coming, just as it always has. And death rates for big flu years have been close to Rona levels, too. Yeah. The big medical institutions have worked on this stuff for decades to no improvement – some studies and stats point to it being worse than ever…

So? How do we continue to thrive, and maybe even truly transform, a world of life-threatening disease, and even make strides toward being a healthier world — inside and out?

Just a thought… what if, we used our power of focus to begin a widespread turnaround in regard to this insidious dis-ease…

What if… every time we had a fearful thought around this virus, or any dis-ease, and the hot topics around it…

We made a choice to Pause. To Breath. And to return to our Core of Truth. And from there, offer our highest intention: a heart-centered thought, or a blessing, or an inspired response or action. And…

What if Love went viral?

Intend to spread the deeper Truth of heart-connected Love and Compassion, first. And not more of the fear that is I believe at the root of all infectious, insidious roots of dis-ease.

If you’re not all “Course in Miracles” with me on that – recognize that maybe, it does play into this, too… and this is something each of us is called to do – just as much as washing hands, or donning a mask…  and you are playing your most powerful part, on all levels.

You will know it by the change you feel within your Self, first and foremost. And that’s how the ripple effects of true transformation begin…

While it is important to stay informed and stay tuned to the bigger collective picture, world wide, in all corners, listening to all perspectives and stories, with compassion, and wisdom…at all levels…

Whew. Yeah. This is a vast, must-leveled and layered thing. Staying open and detached from your one limited perspective is not only Yogic Wisdom – it’s healthier for you, your stress, your mind, heart, and body too. And it allows for greater wisdom and Love to work through you, for the good of all, and for you, too.

So, let the big, healthy hearts of the world prevail, once again! We can absolutely take measures to prevent and stop this disease mindset from spreading – inside and out. And yes, create better health and wellness as our norm… and rise, higher, in great health and wellness, as a collective…

Here are a few things you can do to join The Healthier World Collective (I made that up, but why not? It’s all for the healthier, higher good).

Don’t Be a Sitting Duck. Claim your Wellness Power:

Yes, this virus is spreading, maybe even near us… but, in the vast majority, it is preventable, treatable, curable, and over 80% of us are NOT susceptible to the most-dire of symptoms in the first place. Maybe even more if we up level the management of our own health and wellness, including all the stress (from all the fear around this virus too!) – and take inspired action with some standard virus prevention self-care. We can all do our part and stop this.

Everyone can always do standard preventative wellness strategies…

Here are “The Core 5” From the Wellness Resource Kit:

  1. Reduce stress and inflammation (a physical symptom of stress).  Even low-grade habitual stress depletes your immune system (among other ill-effects). Stress was the no. 1 killer in 2018 according to The WHO. Some level of stress (inflammation included) is at the root of most disease – and viruses… so yes, this is important.
  2. Build your immune system up, and stay informed of supplements and ALL treatments that are proven to ward off viruses – even this one. (I talk about a few top powerhouses below – Vitamin D studies are AMAZING in regard to The ‘Rona).
  3. Move! Get those lungs working – or try gentle Qui Gong movement or breathing exercises if you aren’t too mobile (there’s lots of great videos on YouTube).
  4. Pause. Return to The Heart of Who You Are more often. When you come from the open space of your heart, you make the best choices, and are more prone to love-based, wise response (rather than lower reactions).
  5. Do your own research – seek Truth and Facts – from credible, research and fact-based sources. And dig deeper. Ask questions – who’s funding the research? Could there be an agenda behind it? AND also, tap into the bigger perspective – every one has their invidual perspective – not many look at the collective, big picture good, or have ALL the info to support knowing what’s good for the collective. So, begin to go higher… and through your own wise Heart-Center. It’s available to you. You just need to access it. And remember, the Heart of Truth seeks fairness, respect, and unity. It operates differently than the mind alone…
  6. And one more… Do everything you can to keep a PHA (Positive Healthy Attitude). Believe that you, and the world, at the Core are totally Healthy and Resilient. I call this a Core Truth, and your belief has great power.

THE EXPANDED VERSION OF THE CORE 5: 

1. Reduce stress with the “CORE COHERENCE” Breathing Method

We can actually turn-stress-around, and boost our immune system for hours, with this one basic practice.

Often, letting go and returning to CORE takes a little more effort and commitment to an intention.

  • Begin by bringing your attention to your heart. Put your hand over it if you like, and slowly gently, imagine your breath flowing in and out through your heart, softening tensions, soothing any extra stress charge, and easing it out.
  • You can intone the mantra “Breathe, Ease” with the breath to help the mind focus.
  • Really do this for a few deep, soothing breaths, or a few minutes if you can.

This isn’t about glossing over your emotions. You can absolutely still tend to your emotions, now from Center.

STEP 2: (O) OBSERVE from your Awareness, notice what’s going on in your body and mind, and simply allow it with friendly curiosity. No fixing or judging, just bring light.

STEP 3: (R) RECOGNIZE, RECEIVE, RELEASE…These are all mindful steps back toward your power. Name it (the emotion, challenge, or situation). Honor it, give it a voice. And release it, as ready. Then move on to explore more release or next steps forward…

STEP 4: EXPLORE your next choices and options, from your center, with heart perspective and wisdom.

Begin by exploring your inner-life with basic inquiry, as applicable. You can ask:

  • What’s a more efficient response?
  • How would I like to feel? How would I like to show up, and authentically BE from the Core of me?
  • What is my emotional honesty? What is my Heart’s Truth?
  • What matters to my Heart most here?
  • What is my highest intention here?
  • What are my next Higher Steps?

That’s it! Now, just commit to choosing CORE. It helps to practice the method daily, when not in challenging situations first. And you will begin receiving the soothing benefits immediately.

Soon it will become easier to return to your Core whenever you need to. And you can rewrite your next moment, day, and make your best, aligned choices, every step of the way. With practice, this can change your life.

More on CORE WELLNESS RESOURCE #2: Boost immunity, prevent and ward off viruses through supplements, therapies, diet, exercise, and lifestyle.

I’ll focus on the supplements here a bit to get you started. I’m well-versed in supplements for health and wellness, but I’m an advocate and reporter on the subject, and not certified as a health professional, so always check with the professionals trained in this area.

My supplement cabinet is stocked with quality, whole food (not synthetic) Vitamins, Essential Oils and Herbs. In these times, I really, really, advocate doing your own research, and finding out what your current levels are (you can get blood tests through your health practitioner) — and maintain a health and wellness support chest of your own.

You can find out what really works with you through a naturopath, many nutritionists, and health practitioners. But there are some supplements you really can’t go wrong with… just be sure not to mega-dose and over do it either.

The research-supported immune-boosting, and cold and flu thwarting powerhouses include: C, D, Zinc, Probiotics (and more…).

Out of ALL the info out there… this is the one I’m really making a stand for – Vitamin D is a superstar, according to even more COVID focused research coming out. It seems to work proactively and retroactively against the disease. So you’re less likely to get it, and less likely to get the worst of symptoms. Like 99 percent less likely. I’m going to add a link to studies here soon – but for now – go out and do some of your own research and see what all the fuss is about.

Plus I add pre and probiotics, a good multi-vitamin,  lots of nutirion-packed foods, including lots of real, raw garlic – especially during cold and flu seasons. It keeps a lot more than vampires at bay! Whew! Feeding it to everyone around you is the polite thing to do. 😉

I know, the supplements cost some dinero. But so does getting sick. And good health is true wealth (according to the likes of Ghandi).

Again, always talk to a trained medical or health professional to see what dosages, and supplements are best for you. I recommend adding integrative doctors, or DOs, licensed naturopaths, or nutritionists (among others available)… to your list of professionals.

More on CORE WELLNESS RESOURCE #4: Take back your conscious-info consumer power…

This will require some vigilant Awareness, and a commitment to anchoring into Center. It can also help to take time out and put time into what empowers you, and what matters most to you.

Plus, use some conscious journalistic savvy as you scroll through the info onslaught. Look for fact-based, helpful info, instead of focusing on the hypy headlines and all the unsubstantiated opinions – which are written to suck us in, sell, and push the news and agendas.

Seek out credible, fact-based sources, like The World Health Organization, instead of giving it up to the onslaught.

I went straight to a couple organizations for such info, and The Who site is a great go-to place to get updates and stay on top of prevention and solutions. Also, if it comes to your area, look for local sources of information to see how your community is addressing it.

Organizations typically provide just the facts, and what I found to be restore-the-calm-worthy, info, insights, and doable solutions.

Before I go on… let me give you a glimpse of the helpful factoids available:

Here you go, info from the WHO to you (paraphrased):

  • The coronavirus, like most viruses, is preventable, treatable, curable, and manageable.
  • 80% of us ARE NOT SUSCEPTIBLE to the most-dire symptoms being reported. For this group the symptoms may not develop, or are similar to a mild to full blown cold, with the most severe cases going into treatable pneumonia symptoms.
  • China, Singapore, Taiwan (among others) are making great strides in turning this situation around. (A side note from other reliable sources; China has been using Vitamin C Therapy to great success).
  • The standard cold, virus prevention methods also work to thwart the Big CV.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include: Commit to regular hand washing (for over 20 seconds). Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. Don’t touch eyes, ears and nose, in general refrain from touching your face. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Consider wearing gloves, or disposable gloves, especially if you are the 20% at higher risk in infected areas. [More details at the link below.]

If you suspect you have symptoms, take extra precautions to not spread the virus, and begin self-quarantine. Contact your doctor or specialist to take next steps for testing and support. Start boosting your immunity, as well as your healthy mind and vibe-sets. Do your best to remain centered and manage stress.

For the approximately 20% of people who are more susceptible to the (treatable) harsher pneumonia-like symptoms…

We can all do our best to help this category of people (elderly and those with underlying health issues), by staying out of range if you have symptoms, and not hoarding supplies like hand sanitizers, masks, etc (as has been reported). Leave it for the high-risk group.

Wellness Resource #5: A little PHA (positive healthy attitude) goes a long way.

Boosting your outlook, boosts everything about you, including your immune system. And it changes the way you approach your life, which changes life for the way better. An attitude is a whole way of being, and vibe-ing. It means letting a thought open into full embodiment, and belief.

ALL of this begins with a commitment to being more Aware, and intending to return to your Center, and choosing more empowering thoughts, emotions and beliefs. Once you’ve found your Center, it’s amazing how effortlessly you can open to the positive, higher vibe.

I’m a huge advocate for “putting it into practice,” return to your CORE, more often. Even just a short pause of heart-focused breathing can do it. Not just in quiet sessions at home, but in the day-to-day, and especially in the thick. This is where we truly have the power to create lasting change.
